CIVICUS Better Communications and Planning Civil Society Toolkits CIVICUS's Communication toolkits has fast become a major topic among nonprofits and management support organisations (funders, associations, training centers, civil society organisations and individuals, etc.) that provide services to citizen action around the world. These toolkits are used as resources by a greater number of civil society activists. In September 2007, these toolkits have been downloaded by 29,670 users. The concept of CIVICUS's communication toolkits in civil society is similar to the concept of organisational development, organisational effectiveness and/or organisational performance management in not-for-profits, which therefore should be viewed as the principles of organisational, cultural change, organisational learning, etc... CIVICUS Better Communications and Planning Toolkits are available in English, French, Spanish (Español) and Russian, Portuguese and Arabic in MS Word and PDF formats. A collection of civil society capacity building toolkits and resources produced by other organisations are available free of charge unless otherwise noted. CIVICUS has also recently engage in a process to further collect gender base toolkits and resources of members, partners and other civil society organisations which are available online free of charge here. CIVICUS has undertaken a focus task on building civil society organisations (CSOs) capacity on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and produced campaigning CSOs toolkits available in French, Spanish and Arabic also in MS Word and PDF. Based on requests from members, CIVICUS has produced a range of toolkits to enable organisations to improve their capacity in a number of communication and planning areas. From learning how to write a funding proposal to developing more effective action planning skills, the toolkits provide many useful tips and ideas to help strengthen organisations.
