The EENA in Panama was undertaken between November 2014 and April 2015 by Alianza Ciudadana Pro Justicia.
The research found that CSOs in Panama work in a restrained legal environment that hinders their work. The current legislation is open to interpretation and results in subjective application of the law with regards to dissolution of CSOs and the use of financial information of organisations. The last few years have seen many intentional organisations withdraw from Panama with international donors also pulling back.
