The Affinity Group of National Associations (AGNA) network brings together national associations and regional platforms from around the world to foster greater cooperation across national and regional boundaries, including innovating new ways for civil society organisations to collaborate.

By strengthening the power of people to organise, mobilise and take action, AGNA builds meaningful opportunities for networks to come together to participate in and influence global governance institutions and processes.

AGNA is represented in Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Middle East and North Africa.

AGNA believes that the accountability of civil society organizations is essential for the legitimacy, sustainability, effectiveness and protection of the sector and is more important now than ever. The Working Group on Legitimacy, Transparency, Accountability (LTA) and impact assessment seeks to support taking accountability principles into practice. This working group aims to support the capacity of AGNA members to respond to challenges to their roots, authority, and right to speak on behalf of broader constituencies.

The Accountability and Transparency Platform is a multilingual online toolbox gathering practical examples from around the world that showcase accountability and transparency mechanisms created by civil society organisations best suited to their local context.

This platform has been produced with the assistance of the European Union and The CS Mott Foundation.
