Rendir Cuentas: An Accountability Network in Latin America

Rendir Cuentas: An Accountability Network in Latin America

Rendir Cuentas is a regional initiative in Latin America and the Caribbean from 12 civil society
organisations from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, the Dominican Republic and
Uruguay. This group of CSOs have joined forces to promote transparency and accountability
within civil society by improving standards of national CSO transparency and accountability.

Organisations in each country have developed their own accountability process and mechanism
to reflect the needs of the country, you can check out their governance procedures, financial
information, and activities below:

  1. Argentina
  2. Bolivia
  3. Colombia
  4. Dominican Republic
  5. Ecuador
  6. Peru
  7. Uruguay
Recognizing that civil society needs to protect its legitimacy by being accountable and the need for the sector to be more visible in a sometimes restrictive environment, Rendir Cuentas seeks to establish systematic practices of self-regulation, through mutual learning, and the transfer and adoption of voluntary and common standards.
