Participatory workshop for collecting sdg indicators on responsive and inclusive decision-making

Kinara for Youth Evolution is working with CIVICUS DataShift to learn about the process to collect data on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, specifically measuring inclusive and responsive decision-making (SDG indicator 16.7.2) using a participatory workshop approach.

Recommendations on guideline for collecting sdg data through participatory workshop

Kinara for Youth Evolution is helping CIVICUS to test a participatory workshop designed by FabRiders collecting data on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 16, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Kinara has tested the workshop with three community groups which were our own staff, youth Community Change Agents (CCAs), and women community change agents called Strength of Mothers.

Talking about threats and protection (part 5)

This is the fifth in a series of blogs sharing lessons learned from a collaboration between DataShift and the SPEAK! campaign and the resulting conversations about data management practices among diverse organisations working to overcome social divisions around the world.

Self-reflections from the SPEAK! Campaign (part 7)

This is the seventh and final blog in a series sharing lessons learned from a collaboration between DataShift and the SPEAK! campaign and the resulting conversations about data management practices among diverse organisations working to overcome social divisions around the world.

The power of participatory methods in collecting actionable data

Often data is collected without an understanding of citizens’ everyday experiences nor is designed to meaningfully involve citizens in reflection and collective action. This motivates Kinara for Youth Evolution, as a civil society organisation working at the grassroots, to help fill those gaps and to empower citizens to build their own capacities to contribute to progress on the SDGs in their communities.

Disposal (part 6)

This is the sixth in a series of blogs sharing lessons learned from a collaboration between DataShift and the SPEAK! campaign and the resulting conversations about data management practices among diverse organisations working to overcome social divisions around the world.

Translating SDG 16 indicator questions to Swahili

Civil society has an important role to play in filling the gap and adding context for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicator data. According to the UN Stats Division, SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions has no data available for 12 of its 23 indicators.
