CIVICUS at the United Nations

From the local to global level, CIVICUS works to advance the rights and interests of civil society. At the United Nations, CIVICUS seeks to provide a bridge between those who have a stake in the outcomes of intergovernmental policy-making, and the international forums where decisions are made in their name.

Influencing Donors for Local Leadership

We unpack barriers preventing governments, donors, and other partners from adopting and delivering on commitments to fully enable and resource diverse local communities, civil society groups, and activists.

Our work helps nurture stronger and more meaningful connections between donors and institutions on one side and activists, movements, and local communities on the other, always prioritizing the needs, aspirations, and capabilities of the latter.
