CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is working towards Rio+20 on several fronts, including by acting as an organising partner of the NGO Major Group and co-organising critical meetings and workshops around the world. As part of our contribution to the discussion on the future of sustainable development leadership, we are also supporting the Regeneration Project, led by GlobeScan and Sustainability.
Take the surveyAs part of this initiative, CIVICUS invites you to participate in the first of two global expert surveys to explore the future of leadership for sustainable development.
The results of the survey will be presented at various meetings at the Rio+20 summit, as well as published in various reports, media channels and at www.theregenerationproject.com. The results will also help inform our planning.
The survey can be accessed online and completed on a tablet or touchscreen smart phone. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact James Kong at .
Background
Launched 1 March 2012, the Regeneration Project is a year-long, collaborative and multi-faceted initiative. It seeks to help address the fact that progress in sustainable development has fallen far short of society's needs in the 25 years since the Brundtland Commission released the Our Common Future report and the 20 years since the original Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The Regeneration Project will help to close the gap by building a renewed sense of urgency, and by prescribing and championing a roadmap for future sustainability leadership that is clear and actionable. The roadmap will offer a plan to achieve sustainable development within the next generation, focussing in particular on ways in which the private sector can improve sustainability strategy, increase credibility and deliver results at greater speed and scale.
The Regeneration Project currently enjoys the support of Presenting Sponsors BMW and SC Johnson, Sponsors DuPont, Interface and Pfizer, Media Sponsor Guardian Sustainable Business, and numerous Supporting Organisations, including CIVICUS, GLOBE, ICMM, National Geographic, Report Comunicação, Starbucks, UNEP, WBCSD and the World Bank.
