Membership Engagement Month 2024 (#MEM24) is a special time for the CIVICUS global civil society alliance to connect, celebrate, learn, and collaborate. It’s an opportunity to enhance our experience as a community of members and partners to drive meaningful change. We have an exciting lineup of events, webinars and info sessions.
Membership Engagement Month has gotten off to a great start! At the #MEM24 Launch on November 11, members engaged in how to make the most out of their membership experience. We presented an overview of the activities taking place during the month.
During the regional meetings held between 18- 21st November, participating members were inspired through artivism, with local artists showcasing their work. The meetings also provided a platform for members to understand how they can interact with and use CIVICUS research like the Monitor. These meetings led to interesting discussions on regional challenges and key learnings from 2024.
Do not miss the chance to join the remaining events!
- We have upcoming sessions on building resilience focusing on Data Security and Resilience, and Wellbeing.
- You can also join our interactive panel discussion on the Freedom of Peaceful Assembly (FoPA).
- The CIVICUS' Members Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 5 December. This is a critical opportunity for members to engage with the CIVICUS Board of Directors and understand what CIVICUS has achieved over 2024. There are two sessions scheduled to accommodate different time zones, at 07:00 and 17:00 UTC.

We also invite all our members and partners to support the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence; An international campaign that kicks-off on 25 November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) and runs until 10 December (Human Rights Day).
To commemorate 16 Days of Activism, we encourage joining our online campaign by wearing something orange and taking a picture holding a sign/placard with one of the campaign messages. Share your post on social media, tag us on Facebook, X, Instagram, or LinkedIn, and use #MEM24, #16DaysofActivism, or #ENDGBV!
Together, we can make a difference. Let’s amplify our voices and UNiTE against gender-based violence!
During the first week of December, we will also launch our flagship People Power Under Attack 2024 report which rates county statuses on civic space.
